Debt - What Does It Mean To You?
Got a little debt? Got a lot? In either case, a debt management program can help you get a handle on your current debt situation. In many a fine debt management program, there is a critical part of the process known as debt negotiation. Get the facts here.
Take Control of Your Debt
When you're in debt, you feel helpless, but there's no need for that. Most debt management companies have debt relief programs to suit almost any debt situation. Here's a testament to debt help from Debbie, a paralegal:
"When I graduated from college, I had high hopes for living independently. I didn't get an apartment until after I got my job as a paralegal, and I didn't rent the most expensive apartment I could find. I also didn't buy an expensive car. I thought I was living modestly, but I realized that to work in a law firm, my wardrobe needed a complete overhaul. Career clothes are expensive, and it's not just the clothes--you have to buy the right shoes to match your outfit and a good purse or two that matches everything. I admit that it was fun buying that stuff, but it started a shopping habit that quickly got out of control. I had to buy dishes and other kitchen items and furniture for my apartment as well. My parents gave me a few things, and that really helped, but I still needed linens (towels, washcloths, sheets, etc.) a shower curtain, etc. All of that stuff added up quickly for me. I had a decent salary, but not enough to buy everything I needed all at once. Eventually I had maxed out my credit card, and by the time I paid my rent, car payment, car insurance, renters' insurance, utilities and my high credit card minimums, I only had $20 left to buy groceries and gas. I was desperate. Then I heard about debt management and debt elimination. I searched the Internet (with my new computer) on the term debtmanagement and found a debt reduction company that had a program that could help me become debt free very soon. I was skeptical at first, but when they explained that I should consolidate debt to get lower interest rates and lower balances, and I'd only have to make one payment each month instead of several, I was excited. Because of the lower interest rates and lower balances, all of my credit card debt could be gone in five years. They even added a debt counseling component that taught me how to budget and use credit wisely. I would have been stupid not to enroll!"
If you need help with your debt, do as Debbie did and search the Internet for a debt management company. Most offer programs from debt consolidation to debt settlement, and several programs in between, so you're likely to find a program to fit your specific situation.
